Which Part of the Caribbean?
These broad regions are useful starting points. Individual itineraries often overlap, but each tends to create a somewhat different kind of vacation.
Western Caribbean
Mexico, Belize, Honduras, Jamaica and the Cayman Islands can bring reefs, Maya history, adventure activities and a more active vacation feel — often paired with lively ships.
Southern Caribbean
Aruba, Bonaire, Curaçao, Barbados and islands farther south appeal to travelers who want a broader mix of destinations, especially after they have already sailed the more familiar routes.
Bahamas & Bermuda Getaways
The Bahamas fit naturally with Caribbean cruise shopping, especially for shorter vacations and private destinations. Bermuda is not Caribbean, but many travelers consider it in the same warm-weather cruise conversation.

A private island or cruise-line destination can be one of the most memorable days of the cruise. If that experience matters to you, it should be part of the ship and itinerary decision from the beginning.

Where Should You Sail From?
Miami and Fort Lauderdale provide enormous choice. Port Canaveral works particularly well for many high-activity ships, while Tampa, San Juan and Barbados can open up very different itineraries.

Private destinations are not a separate Caribbean region. They can appear on Eastern, Western, Bahamas and broader Caribbean itineraries, but the experience can matter enough to influence which cruise line you choose.
Royal Caribbean & Celebrity
Both brands offer sailings to Perfect Day at CocoCay, where travelers can choose everything from quiet beach time and cabanas to pools, water attractions and a much more active resort-style day. Labadee can also appear on select Caribbean itineraries, adding another beach-and-adventure experience in Haiti.

There is no single Caribbean season that is right for everyone. Schedule, weather tolerance, crowds and who is traveling often matter more.

The classic escape-from-the-cold season, with broad cruise selection and comfortable island weather drawing travelers from colder climates.
Summer
A natural choice for families and school schedules, with plenty of large-ship activity and warm-weather vacation energy.
Fall
Fall can bring appealing value and fewer families, but travelers should understand tropical-weather and itinerary change considerations before choosing a sailing.

These lines become especially strong when entertainment, activities, family appeal and a resort-style ship are major parts of the vacation rather than simply transportation between islands.
Luxury & Smaller Ships

That experience is one reason we do not treat every
Caribbean itinerary as interchangeable. A short Bahamas
getaway, an activity-heavy Western Caribbean cruise and a
longer Southern Caribbean sailing can serve completely
different travelers.
We may not personally need to sail every Caribbean itinerary again — but our clients love the region, and it remains one of the most useful destinations for groups, families and easy warm-weather vacations.
