Start With What You Most Want to Experience
A conventional South America cruise can combine cities, Patagonia, Cape Horn and the Falklands, sometimes adding scenic cruising near Antarctica. A true Antarctica expedition is built around Zodiac operations, landings and flexible daily exploration.
Galápagos creates another expedition-style experience entirely, while Brazil and the eastern side of South America offer a much more traditional combination of cities, coastline and culture.

do you want to see Antarctica from a ship, or do you want to
actually land and participate in an expedition? Both can be
remarkable vacations, but they are not the same trip.

Buenos Aires, Montevideo and the Brazilian coastline create a more city- and culture-focused cruise experience, with food, wine, architecture, beaches and some of South America's most recognizable destinations.
Antarctica, Falklands & South Georgia
Antarctica can range from scenic cruising aboard a larger ship to a true expedition with landings and Zodiac exploration. Adding the Falklands or South Georgia brings substantially more time and an even stronger wildlife focus.
Galápagos & Mainland Ecuador
Galápagos is an expedition destination centered on wildlife, naturalists and carefully managed exploration. Quito is a common gateway, while some travelers extend farther into South America with Peru and Machu Picchu.

Many cruise programs concentrate around the warmer Southern Hemisphere months, though coastal itineraries and longer voyages can vary considerably.
Antarctica
